Note from the Pastor….

On October 31, 2017, the Christian world will celebrate the 500th jubilee of Martin Luther’s nailing of his famous “Ninety-five Theses” to the door of All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Germany. This began the Protestant Reformation. Sound boring? Actually, it’s not, it is one of history’s most influential movements.

Professor Mark Noll writes that “500,000,000 adherents to churches and denominations that trace their descent directly or indirectly from 16th-century Protestant beginnings and several hundred millions more in ‘independent’ churches with Protestant origins or strongly Protestant characteristics.”

Leading up to Reformation Sunday on October 29, I will be preaching about different aspects and leaders in the Reformation movement. It is a great opportunity to explore our beliefs and our history.
